EL PASO, Texas -- Sixth-grader Tre Moore attends Nolan Richardson Middle School and said what happened in science class left him in shock. Moore said he went to go sharpen his pencil when he alleges the science teacher assaulted him.

"She was like, 'Everybody sit down,' and I was still up sharpening my pencil, so then she grabbed me by my shirt, and she like pulled me, and she like yanked me, like threw me to my chair," said Tre Moore.

"Of course I was furious," said Monika Moore, Tre's mother.

She could not believe what her son had told her.

"That's not what we are sending our kids to school for; we are sending them for education," said Monica Moore.

Monika Moore said the following day her husband went to school to complain and file a report with the school police officer.

"Nobody has returned any calls, haven't told us the process," said Moore.

KFOX wanted to know what the process was for incidents like this, from how the school district police investigate, to how they come to a conclusion and take disciplinary action if necessary, but the El Paso Independent School District would release only the following statement:

"An incident was reported at Richardson Middle School Dec. 4 involving a sixth grade student who alleged he was assault[ed] by a teacher. EPISD Police spoke to the student, teacher and witnesses and found no grounds for assault. No injuries were reported and no further action is necessary."

"If she's allowed to get away with it this time with my child, it's going to happen again and needs to be stopped now," said Monica Moore.

Tre Moore has switched into another science class, but he said he doesn't feel as comfortable at school anymore.

"You just have friends and you play and just learn, but then, she just did that, so that made it seem like, unsafe," said Tre Moore.
