More Complaints About Local Wedding Planner

Posted: 7:38 pm MST November 28, 2007Updated: 8:32 pm MST November 28, 2007

KFOX told you that clients of Liz Rey with BRE Wedding Planner were not happy with her services and wanted their money back.

On Wednesday, two more alleged victims want their complaints to be heard.

"I met her through a bridal fair. She showed us all these destination wedding she had allegedly done," said Shane Wiggs from East El Paso.

It was back in August when Wiggs hired Liz Rey to coordinate his wedding in the spring.

"We met her at her house and gave her a deposit and didn't see her again in two months. She disappeared, she wouldn't answer our calls, wouldn't return e-mail. We drove by her house," said Wiggs.

His story is not unique. As KFOX reported on Monday, Ivette Costa-Miranda said she hired Rey to plan her wedding and demanded her money back because she wasn't happy with the services.

On Wednesday, KFOX interviewed a couple, who didn't want to be identified, who says they are out $3,000 because of Rey.

KFOX spoke with Liz Rey on the phone. She didn't want to do an on-camera interview but she said the clients that KFOX has interviewed are lying. She said that wedding planning is difficult, and in every wedding something will go wrong and she tries to help the customer as best she can.

"If you can't do the job, you shouldn't be taking money from people to do the job," said Wiggs.

Wiggs got his money back and he said it wasn't easy. He hopes that he can prevent the same thing happening to other couples.

"It seems like this is how she makes her income; takes the money and waits and sees if anyone will dispute it," said Wiggs.
