At least one person was evacuated after a fire broke out in Central El Paso.

The fire started in a single-story home just before 5 p.m. Sunday on the 5900 block of Trowbridge.

Luckily, no one was seriously injured.

Firefighters said an electrical short caused the fire, a problem they said happens frequently.

Battalion Chief Patrick Aguayo said, "These are pretty common. We have a lot of fires that occur due to old wiring in structures as things deteriorate. You'll get an electrical short."

The fire started in the back of the house and quickly spread to the attic.

The amount of damage remains unknown.
