Web Site Exposes Bad Neighbors
A new site aims to help prospective homebuyers make the right choice before they buy a property. Rottenneighbor.com gives users access to their free database of all bad neighbors that are out there. The Web site relies on users who write blogs about their neighborhood frustrations."If I was looking to buy a property, I would use it. That information would be interesting to know because a lot of things happen in neighborhoods that you don't see when you're just driving through it," said Cheryl Johnson of West El Paso.Other El Pasoans said the Web site wouldn't be too useful."That's why I would hire a realtor. It's their job to look into whether the house is good or not. I just don't listen to people who say nasty things," said Ben Loeb of West El Paso.Rottenneighbor.com is relatively new, and only some of the major cities have started blogging. It has yet to catch on in El Paso."I wouldn't use it because, say, one bad thing happens, and everybody is going to write about it, and it's going to make the neighborhood seem really bad. What if it's not, and some people might try and make stuff up?" said Seanna Herbert of West El Paso. One of the more appropriate blogs KFOX found read: "The loud morons that live behind me recently added outside speakers to their stereo system, so now the whole neighborhood can listen to horrible music."
