Police: Red-Light Runner Causes Triple Car Accident

An entire family went to the hospital Monday afternoon with only minor injuries after their Toyota Sequoia flipped over twice and caused two other drivers to crash.

Police investigators said a woman driving the Sequoia ran the red light heading South on Kansas.

A man driving an Isuzu eastward on Wyoming hit her, causing her to flip the Sequoia.

Then another man driving a truck eastward ran into the Isuzu.

El Paso police Officer Sonia Armitage said, “This is caused by somebody running a red light. Fortunately everyone was wearing their seat belts. There were children in the Sequia that rolled over. A child was in its car seats. Everyone was seat-belted in and that's what caused them to have just minor injuries."

Members of the family went to different hospitals to get checked out, including an infant and a young boy.

The drivers of the other two trucks refused medical treatment.

One driver said he didn't have a choice but to hit the other truck.
