New Mexico State Police questioned a man Wednesday night after they found the body of a woman in the car with him.

Deming police had sent out an advisory to area law enforcement at about 11:30 am. Tuesday.

It asked officers to "be on the lookout for" a white male in a dark blue Nissan with Arizona license plates. A guest at the Hacienda Motel in Deming reported she had seen the man putting what appeared to be an unconscious 13-year-old girl in the trunk of his car.

A spokesman with New Mexico State Police said a man drove up to a Lordsburg police officer several hours later and said the girl in the car with him "was sick."

Police officers discovered the girl had been dead for several hours.

Police are not releasing any names. However, police said the deceased woman was 26 years old.
