Drivers Deal With Flooded Intersections

Posted: 7:32 pm MDT May 16, 2007

The rain flooded some intersections throughout El Paso, trapping cars and creating dangerous conditions for drivers.

At the intersection of Lee Trevino and James Watt, fire crews had to rescue one driver who got stuck.

"I didn't think it was going to happen because I saw a couple of cars get through, and I didn't think my car was going to end up dying," Hector Barragan said.

Hours later, the intersection was still flooded, which is what some drivers said always happens when it rains.

Employees at the nearby Pets Barn said business is affected when the intersection floods.

"Cars get stuck, and people go crazy like they've never seen rain before," employee Robert Barnes said.
