I-10 Closures

I-10 Closures:

SLOW MOVING OPERATION: The Slow Moving Operation will require left shoulder closures on I-10 (west and eastbound), between the Lomaland and the McRae Overpass.

This operation will begin at approximately 10 p.m. this Wednesday, April 15 and continue through 3 a.m. the following morning. Crews will begin westbound and then turnaround to the eastbound shoulder.

TxDOT pavement crews will be operating a slow moving falling weight project.

I-10 / HORIZON INTERCHANGE PROJECT:

There will be alternate east and westbound (left and right) lane closures on the Horizon Overpass from 9 a.m.
to 4 p.m., Monday, April 13 through Friday, April 17.

The alternate north and southbound (left and right lane) closures on Horizon Blvd. (FM 1281) will continue daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. until further notice.

The closure is necessary for the construction of the frontage roads and interchange.

I-10 (Culberson County):

The alternate left and right lane closures on I-10 (both east and westbound), between mile marker 179 to mile marker 166, will continue through the end of April.

These closures will be in place daily from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

REMINDER: There is a 16’ wide load restriction for the duration of the project; from the Junction Boracho Interchange (mile marker 166) to the Junction Kent Interchange (mile marker 179).

The speed limit has been reduced from 80 mph to 70 mph through this work zone.

These closures are necessary while crews mill and overlay the road.
