Strong Winds Aggravate Allergies

Posted: 6:34 pm MDT April 10, 2007

The pharmacy aisles at a local Walgreens were buzzing on Monday afternoon.

Many allergy sufferers were looking for some over-the-counter relief to help their allergies, after strong winds blew into Las Cruces.

"We can't be out when it's really strong like this," said Wendy Wieczorek, clutching some over-the-counter medicines. "We have bloody noses and it's pretty bad."

The store pharmacist, Melinda Guerrero, said Wieczorek was not alone. She said as the winds blow in, they're bringing in a lot of customers.

"All day long, we've had people coming up to the pharmacist station wondering what they should take," she said.

According to KFOX Chief Meterologist Sandra Diaz, the strong winds are expected to remain high through the end of the week.
