Police: Teen Dead After Accidental Handgun Discharge

El Paso Police officers were sent to investigate a shooting late Saturday afternoon in Northeast El Paso.

Officers arrived and found a 17-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his head. The teenager was transported to William Beaumont Army Medical Center where he died from his injuries. Crimes Against Persons investigators were called to the scene where an investigation ensued.

Investigators believe that the 17-year-old male was handling a handgun when the weapon discharged a bullet, striking the man in the head.
