Recall Alert: Chicken Breast Strips Plucked From Stores

Remote controls from Best Buy and children's rings that contain lead are two of the products in this week’s KFOX Recall Alert. There is also news on a major recall involving chicken breast strips.

About 2.8 million pounds of Oscar Mayer and Louis Rich chicken breast cuts and strips are being recalled because they may be contaminated with potentially deadly listeria bacteria.

The front of each package in this recall bears the establishment No. P-19676 inside the USDA inspection mark.

A number of 6-ounce and 12-ounce packages of chicken breast cuts are included in the recall.

More than 100,000 Claudia Joblot children's rings have been recalled. The rings contain high lead levels, which can be toxic to young children.

Big Lots! stores nationwide sold these recalled rings from October 2004 through January 2006.

Best Buy is recalling about 10,000 remote controls sold with Insignia 100-W DVD Compact Shelf Systems.

If the batteries are placed backwards in the remote control, with the positive and negative sides switched, the remote control can overheat and pose a burn hazard.

Best Buy stores sold the Insignia DVD Remote Controls from May of last year until this January.
