Minneapolis, MN -- (Sports Network) - The Texas Rangers activated Vicente Padilla from the 15-day disabled list in order to start Sunday's series finale against the Minnesota Twins.Padilla tossed seven shutout innings as the Rangers edged the Twins, 1-0. He scattered three hits and walked a pair to pick up the win. The 30-year-old had been sidelined with neck stiffness since July 5. Padilla became the fifth and final member of the Rangers' original starting rotation to go on the DL in 2008. Padilla had gone 10-5 with a 4.70 earned run average in 18 starts before the injury. His 10 wins were the most by a Texas right-hander prior to the All-Star break since Rick Helling had 10 victories in 2001. To make room on the roster for Padilla, the club optioned infielder German Duran to Triple-A Oklahoma. Duran, 23, is batting .225 with three home runs and 11 RBI in 43 games for Texas this season.
