It is a phone call no parent ever wants to receive.

Margie Aranda was given news her son, Marine Sergeant Luis Aranda, was injured while fighting in Iraq.

Details on how the attack occurred are still not available but she says her 22 year-old son suffered 3rd degree burns to nearly 40% of his body.

Luis is being treated for his injuries in Germany right now and doctors have cleared him for travel back to Texas within the next couple of days.

"He joined the Marines right out of high school he'd wanted to be a marine since he was a little boy since he was in sixth grade he said he was going to be a Marine." says Luis' mother, Margie Aranda.

The 2001 Franklin High School graduate was scheduled to complete his 4-years of service to the Marines in March.
