UPDATED: 9:24 pm MST December 8, 2007

Hundreds of soldiers' family members and friends waited the arrival of their loved ones coming home after a 15-month deployment in Iraq.

The arrival/departure facility was filled with posters and pictures of family and soldiers from the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Bliss, Texas.

Family members are grateful to have their soldiers home for Christmas, but their hearts go out to the families of those soldiers who died for our country.

The brigade has suffered several losses since its deployment 15 months ago.

It lost 31 soldiers.

KFOX reporter Monica Balderrama asked one military wife what it was like to hear the news about the numerous deaths.

"I'm not going to lie to you -- it's scary. It would scare anybody. You just have to hope for the best. I'm just happy he'll be home," said military wife Vanessa Castillo.

The remainder of the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Bliss, Texas will return this weekend and throughout December.
