Another Fallen Soldier Dies From A Non-Combat Related Incident

NINEWAH PROVINCE, Iraq -- The Department of Defense announced Wednesday the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.Spc. Matthew J. Emerson, 20, of Grandview, Wash., died Sept. 18 in Ninewah Province, Iraq, of injuries suffered from a non-combat related incident.He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Bliss, Texas.The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.This brings a total of 28 casualties under the 4th brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division.Stay tuned to KFOX News At Nine and log on to kfoxtv.com for more information on this story.
