Families and soldiers at Fort Bliss are mourning the loss of a soldier with the 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry, 4th Brigade combat team, 1st Cavalry division.

Fort Bliss announced Pfc. Benjamin B. Bartlett Jr., 25, of Manchester, Ga., Sunday in Mosul, Iraq, of wounds he suffered from a rocket propelled grenade.

The military posthumously awarded him the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.

This brings a total of 20 casualties under the 4th brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division.
