Fort Bliss Soldier Killed In Baghdad

February 12, 2007 -- Monday, Fort Bliss announced the death of another soldier serving in Iraq with the 4th Brigade 1st Cavalry division.
Army Sgt. Robert B. Thrasher has been identified as one of the recent casualties supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Thrasher, 23, died Sunday in Baghdad of wounds suffered when his unit came into contact with enemy forces using small arms fire during combat patrol.
Thrasher is originally from California and is survived by his wife.
He was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
