The Department of Defense said Spc. Nicholas Brown, 24, died Monday when an improvised explosive device hit his vehicle in Mosul, Iraq.
He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division.
He is the seventh soldier from this unit to be killed in action since last month.
Brown is survived by his wife and child. He was from Huber Heights, Ohio.
