Preslee, Kylee Wells Were Together At Chest

OKLAHOMA CITY -- A pair of conjoined twins from Oklahoma City were separated early Monday afternoon, a spokesman with the Children's Hospital at OU Medical Center said.Surgeons separated Preslee and Kylee Wells in a surgery expected to last up to six hours, local television station KOCO reported.Hospital spokesman Allen Poston blogged about the surgery throughout the morning, and posted the following at 12:24 p.m.:
For the first time in their short 2 month lives, Preslee and Kylee are on their backs. The OR has divided into 2 OR teams to begin the closing process.They were conjoined at the chest but did not share vital organs or blood vessels, doctors said.Blood transfusions might be needed for the girls. People interested in helping can donate blood in their name at any Oklahoma Blood Institute location.The twins' parents are Stevie Stewart and Kyle Wells of Calumet.
