The first live blog post of the day was a pretty solid success, but with it starting to fill up, the time has come for NFL free agency open thread part two. Everybody loves a sequel!

After a relatively quiet start, the 49ers signed Glenn Dorsey to an as yet undetermined contract. He will compete for time on the defensive line, and really could end up filling a Ricky Jean Francois type of role. Based on all the chatter, it sounds like he might get a chance to compete for nose tackle play, but also could work behind Justin Smith and Ray McDonald. We'll see what OTAs and training camp bring on that front.

Charles Woodson is in town for a visit, but there is no word yet on how that discussion has gone. The 49ers saw Dashon Goldson leave for a five year contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, opening up a sizable hole in the back end of the 49ers defense. If Woodson does not work out, LaRon Landry is expected to visit San Francisco on Thursday.

Elsewhere around the league, Reggie Bush joined the Lions and Shonn Greene joined the Titans. Wes Welker may have some kind of offer from the Broncos, but he might be giving the Patriots an opportunity to match. That drama could also dictate what happens with Danny Amendola.

The 49ers still have work to do, but if they can lock down Charles Woodson, that and the Dorsey deal would fill some early needs. There are still plenty of holes to consider, but the 49ers are slowly making progress.
