Nnamdi Asomugha rumors: 49ers expected to host CB on Thursday

A day after Nnamdi Watch crept back onto our radar, we would appear to be fully back in. Matt Maiocco is reporting that a league source indicated Nnamdi Asomugha is scheduled to visit with the 49ers on Thursday.

Nnamdi would bring a physical presence to the 49ers cornerback position. Standing 6'2 210 pounds, he would be the biggest of the 49ers cornerbacks. He struggled in Philadelphia, but given the 49ers ability to turn around some reclamation projects, I'd be optimistic about what he could do in San Francisco.

That being said, this also has to mean the 49ers cornerbacks, particularly Carlos Rogers, are wondering what might be up. If the 49ers signed Asomugha, would they really keep Rogers, Chris Culliver and Tarell Brown? Rogers makes the most sense as a cap casualty, if the 49ers decided to cut ties with anybody in that group.

Would this spell the end of Rogers tenure with the 49ers? Would you take Nnamdi over Rogers?
