Going Back To 2010

We’ve been rewatching the 2010 Duke-West Virginia game in the Final Four, and aside from Clark Kellogg’s gradual realization that he was completely wrong about Duke’s being able to compete with the Mountaineers, what’s really clear is just how tough the 2010 team was.

In retrospect, Kellogg wasn’t the only one underrating Duke. That team was far tougher, and a lot more unified, than just about anyone outside the program understood at the time.

The other interesting thing was seeing Mason Plumlee as a freshman after watching him this year. He’s clearly not nearly as confident as he is now, and offense is a bonus. You can see the outlines, but nothing has been filled in yet.
