's newly released solo album, Like a Rose
, includes poignant, tearjerking songs, as well as off-the-wall comedic tunes with which you can't help but laugh along. One of the latter is a flirtatious duet with Blake Shelton
, "You Ain't Dolly (And You Ain't Porter)." However, the song almost didn't make the record, due to Blake's filming schedule for "The Voice" (which actually gets name-checked in the song). But Ashley was adamant and went as far as pushing back the project's release date in order to include the playful track.
"She was having to get her album done and I had agreed to do the duet and was excited to be a part of it," Blake told The Boot and other reporters at a media event in Nashville. "I love Ashley, she's family to me. I hadn't ever even heard the song and I said, 'Hell yeah, I'll do it,' because I knew she wouldn't have any bombs on this record, she's just too good of a writer. But it turned into, 'When can you sing it?' 'I don't know, I'm in L.A., crap, this sucks.'"Listen to "You Ain't Dolly (You Ain't Porter)
