Now in its 12th year, The Butterfly Run is an annual 5KRun/Walk and 1 Mile Fun Run held to keep the memory of Elizabeth Ciunci alive by funding a scholarship in her name that was started after she was tragically killed by a drunk driver in 1999. Just 18 years old, Elizabeth was studying early childhood education with a focus on special education. Following her death, her family and friends created the Elizabeth Ciunci Foundation and scholarship to help students who share her desire to help children with special needs. The Butterfly Run is held on the campus of Great Valley High School in Malvern. Age groups include: 12&Under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70&over. 5K awards are given in the following categories: • 1st place overall Male & Female: $200 • 2nd place overall Male & Female: $100 • 3rd place overall Male & Female: $50 Race Day registration starts at 7:30 am 5K Run/Walk starts at 9:00 am 1 Mile Fun Run start at 9:05 am Entry Fees: 5K Run - $20 (Race Day $25) Children 12 & Under - $10 Family of 3+ people - $40 1 Mile Fun Run - $5 Visit www.lbrun.org to register in advance.
