The 1st Annual One Sparrow 5K Run, 1 mile Family Fun Run will take place on Saturday, April 6th, 2013 starting at 8 am at Capital Community Church near Ashburn Elementary. Immediately following the race and awards ceremony, there will be a Community Festival at Capital Community Church. Please join us for food from some local restaurants, fun activities for the kids, and win some great raffle prizes! Here are a few of the activities that will be available: Apperances from a few players from NFC East Champs, the Washington Redskins Teenage Paintball Target PracticeMoon bounceFamily 40-yard dash challengeKids obstacle courseFace Painting and Tattoo StationCotton candy and popcorn stationOneSparrows goal is to raise $80,000 to build an orphanage and school that would service the children of Bon Repos, Haiti. The Running Home for Haiti 5K Race is to raise $40,000 to purchase to the necessary land to begin the process. This orphanage would hopefully end the constant cycle of displacement these children face. This orphanage would also provide the education these children so desperately need so they could dream of a future greater than their current circumstances. Our mission is so much more than just building a building, we want to help build up a community and future generations.
