"Desperate Housewives" actress Eva Longoria Parker took a little break from filming Thursday to serve up Frosties at a Wendy's restaurant in Selma.

Longoria Parker's appearance at the restaurant, which surprised many patrons, was in support of the third annual Father's Day Frosty Weekend, which raises money for the Dave Thomas Foundation For Adoption.

The foundation helps about 130,000 children in the nation's foster care system, which 10 percent of whom are from Texas.

"I want to be sure that people are aware it's not kids in Africa, it's kids everywhere, but specifically in our own communities in San Antonio and Corpus Christi," Longoria Parker said. "When you're in a position to give a loving environment and a home for these children, you don't have to be rich to do it. You have to have a big heart," she said.

This is the second year that Longoria Parker has participated in the event. In 2007, she served up Frosties at a Wendy's restaurant in Corpus Christi.

Wendy's "Father's Day Frosty Weekend" is June 20 and June 21.

For every Frosty sold on those days, 50 cents goes toward the adoption foundation, which hopes to raise $1.7 million.
