Lindsay Lohan's father says the rumored romantic relationship between his daughter and her friend, DJ Samantha Ronson, "is evident to anyone with half a brain."

Michael Lohan made the remarks in an e-mail to Us magazine's Web site after recent pictures of actress "nuzzling necks" with Ronson at the Cannes Film Festival surfaced.

He said that it's the sort of public behavior he would just as soon not know about -- much like Lindsay Lohan's semi-nude recreation of Marilyn Monroe's famous "The Last Sitting" photos in New York magazine earlier this year.

"Just like the Marilyn Monroe spread, Linds is my daughter and there are just some things a father doesn't want to see or hear, regardless of whether they are true or false," Michael Lohan told Us magazine in the e-mail.

The magazine said that Michael Lohan volunteers for a Christian-based rehab organization, and said that his 21-year-old daughter "is a big girl, and she can make her own life choices. Then it is between her and God."

Michael Lohan took the opportunity in the e-mail to Us to criticize his ex-wife, Dina Lohan, who just launched a new reality show on E! He said that when they were a family unit, "you never even saw or heard a negative thing about any of us."

"Maybe her mother's life revolves around the tabloids and reports, but mine doesn't," Michael Lohan said. "I am into setting a good example and doing good things that don't deceive or exploit my kids."
