Police in Oregon arrested a teaching assistant after they said a parent found disturbing messages on her son's MySpace page.

Jan Gleaves, an assistant at St. Helens High School, was arrested Wednesday night on charges of sex abuse and giving alcohol to a minor.

One of the boy's parents contacted authorities after noticing their son's MySpace page. Officers spoke with the boy and turned over their findings to police in Rainier, where Gleaves lives.

Police said they believe the crimes happened at her apartment.

"I still don't believe it," said Mark Powell, a neighbor of Gleaves. "We've had intimate talks before and it just doesn't sound like her to me."

Detectives don't believe any of the victims are students at St. Helens High School, but they're trying to determine if there are more victims in Rainier.

The Rainier School District released a statement Thursday that said some of the alleged victims may be students in the Rainier district.

Gleaves' neighbor said he saw teenage boys come and go from Gleaves' apartment, but thought they were just friends of her 12-year-old son.

Gleaves has been placed on administrative leave from her job and the school sent home a notice to parents.

When Gleaves was arrested, her son was taken into protective custody.
