Street Closures
ROAD CLOSURES:Temporary Closure at Executive Center and Paisano.
Beginning April 21-23 the railroad crossing at Executive Center Blvd. and Paisano Drive will be temporarily closed to traffic.
The proper traffic control measures will be in place to direct the traveling public through its area for this period. Traffic will be re-routed to Sunland Park Drive or Yandell Drive for the duration of this closure.
Maintenance:
The following closures will be in place Monday, April 6 through Friday, April 10, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.:
Alternate left and right lane closures (both east and westbound) on Artcraft Rd., between I-10 and Doniphan Dr..
Alternate left lane closures (east and westbound) on Mesa St., between Cincinnati Ave. and Crossroads Dr.
Alternate left and right lane closures (both east and westbound) on the Yandell Overpass, between I-10 and Paisano Dr.
Southbound right shoulder closure on Dyer St.
The above closures are necessary for maintenance and cleaning debris on the roadways.
Coronado Road Project to Begin:
Effective January 5, 2009 the first phase of the Coronado Road Street and Drainage Improvements Project will be mobilizing. Please note that as part of this initiative street closures on Coronado Road from J.C. Cramer Lane to Marquita Lane will be in effect throughout the expected construction period of 4 months.
The scope of work for this project will consist of various improvements to the existing street and drainage facilities and will provide a new underground drainage system that will carry stormwater on Coronado Road and discharge it into the Playa Drain.
• Expected completion in May 2009.
• Limited access will be provided on Coronado Road throughout the construction period.
VINTON RD. PROJECT (Spur 37):
The following closures will be in place Monday, April 20 through Saturday, April 25:
7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Alternate left and right lane closures on Vinton Rd., between South Desert Blvd. and Doniphan Dr.
8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Alternate left and right lane closures on Border Steel Rd. (side street at Vinton Rd.).
Alternate left and right lane closures on Keily Rd. (side street at Vinton Rd.) will be closed. Traffic is detoured to A P Ramirez St.
Alternate left and right lane closures on A P Ramirez St. Traffic will be detoured to Keily Rd.
8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Alternate left and right lane closures, westbound on Doniphan Dr., between Holguin Ave. and Jessie Trigg Dr.
9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Alternate left and right lane closures, both east and westbound on I-10, between mil marker 2 and mile marker 4 (just beneath the Vinton Overpass).
The closures are necessary for the reconstruction of Vinton Rd.
LEE BLVD. PROJECT:
The westside of Lee Blvd., between Edgemere Blvd. and Turner Rd., will be under construction until futher notice. This will consist of the widening of the road, new drainage, gutters, sidewalks, curb ramps and driveways.
There will not be any road closures at this time.
ASHFORD ST. PROJECT:
Ryderwood Rd. is closed, between Darrington Rd. and Ashford St. This closure will continue through December 2008.
DETOUR: Traffic will be detoured onto Darrington Rd., turn right on Horizon Blvd., and right onto Ashford St.
The northbound right lane on Ashford St. remains closed through January 2009, while crews complete construction.
Beginning June 15, 2008: Franklin Street from Santa Fe Street to Oregon Street will be restricted to bus traffic only.
Additionally, a small portion of El Paso Street will also be utilized for bus traffic. Please note the closure is expected to be in effect throughout the next several months.
Additional highlights:Missouri Avenue traffic circulation will return to its normal conditions.All lanes will be open to traffic
Parking meters will be available
MONTANA AVE. (US 62/180):
The following closures will remain in place until further notice: Westbound, right shoulder closures on Montana Ave. from four miles west of Hueco Tanks (FM 2775) to half a mile east of Tiffany Lane. Charles Raymond Dr. will continue closed, between Montana Ave. and Patsy Place.DETOUR: Westbound traffic on Montana Ave. will need to turn right on O’Leary Rd., right on Patsy Place, and back to Charles Raymond Dr.
MIDDLE ISLAND ROAD (FM 76):
Middle Island Rd. will have a continuous closure until further notice, while crews resurface the highway.
DETOUR: Eastbound traffic on Middle Island Rd. will need to turn North on Island Guadalupe Rd., East on Island Tornillo, then South to Tornillo Guadalupe Rd. and back to Middle Island Rd.Westbound traffic from the Middle Island/ Tornillo Guadalupe Intersection will need to go North on Tornillo Guadalupe Rd., turn West on Island Tornillo, then South on Island Guadalupe Rd., and back to Middle Island Rd.
SPUR 601 PROJECT:
The southbound left lane on Gateway South (along US 54) will continue to be closed between, the Fred Wilson Exit Ramp and Fred Wilson Ave., through Saturday, April 25 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The alternate right and left lane closures in both directions (east and westbound) on Fred Wilson Ave., between Dyer St. (BU 54) and Chaffee Rd. will continue through Sunday, May 3 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The westbound right lane on Walter Jones Blvd. will be closed between, Global Reach Dr. and Spur Dr., beginning Tuesday, April 14 through Saturday, April 25 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The eastbound right lane on Fred Wilson Ave., between Gateway North and Marshall Rd., will continue to be closed daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through May 2009.
The westbound right lane closure on Fred Wilson Ave., between Airport Rd. and Marshall Rd., will continue through June 2009, while crews perform roadway and utility work.
REMINDER: The westbound lanes on the Purple Heart Memorial Highway (Loop 375), between Railroad Dr. and Montana Ave. (US 62/180) is closed. The eastbound lanes now handle one eastbound and one westbound lane for traffic.
This closure is necessary for the construction of the Loop 375 Overpass and Intersection for the new Spur 601 mainlanes. The detour will continue until further notice.
The work zone speed limit is lowered to 45 m.p.h.
Expect construction to continue in the immediate area of Fred Wilson and Airport Rd. through out the completion of the Spur 601 Project, scheduled for the winter of 2011.
