I-10 Closures

I-10 Closures:

RESURFACING/ REHABILITATION PROJECT:
The following evening closures (except where specified) begin at 9 p.m. Sunday, September 28 and continue through Friday, October 3.

North and Southbound closures:
Right and left lanes will close at alternate times on North Desert Blvd., between Mesa St. (SH 20) and Redd Rd..
Right and left lanes will close at alternate times on I-10, between the Mesa Overpass and the Thorn Overpass (these will occur from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and again from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the next morning).

PLEASE NOTE THAT NEITHER OF THE RAMPS WILL BE CLOSED AT THE SAME TIME.

The above closures are necessary for the rehabilitation of the roadway.

MAINTENANCE CLOSURES:
The following eastbound closures will be in place Sunday, September 29 through Thursday, October 2 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.:
Alternate eastbound right lane closure on I-10, between the Copia Overpass and the Geronimo Overpass
Raynolds Exit Ramp Paisano Exit Ramp Trowbridge Exit Ramp Geronimo Exit Ramp

I-10 ENTRANCE RAMP PROJECT:
TxDOT has begun the construction of a new westbound entrance ramp and auxiliary lane. The project consists of the relocation of an existing entrance ramp. This will ease the weaving problem when one exits southbound from Loop 375-Joe Battle to I-10 westbound.

The westbound right shoulder is closed. There is a speed reduction on the frontage road from 55 mph to 45 mph during construction.

This project is scheduled to be completed by the end of January 2009.

I-10 / HORIZON INTERCHANGE PROJECT:

The eastbound right lane on I-10 (half mile east of the Horizon Overpass) will be completely closed for approximately two more weeks.

Expect alternate north and southbound lane closures to continue on the Horizon Blvd. Bridge until further notice. The approaching east and westbound frontage roads at the Horizon Blvd. Bridge will close at alternate times.

The following closures will continue until further notice.
Left lane on Gateway East, between Horizon Blvd. and Timothy Dr.
Right lane closure on Gateway East, between Eastlake Blvd. and Horizon Blvd.
Right lane on Gateway West, between Horizon Blvd. and Eastlake Blvd.
Left lane on Gateway West, between Timothy Dr. and Horizon Blvd.

These closures are necessary for reconstruction of the frontage roads.

I-10 (Culberson County):
The following closures will continue through October while crews mill and overlay the road:

The westbound left lane, between mile marker 175 to mile marker 170. The eastbound left lane, between mile marker 170 to mile marker 175.

PLEASE NOTE:
The speed limit has been reduced from 80 mph to 70 mph through this work zone.

Another closure on I-10 from Van Horn to Kent.

There will be alternate east and westbound lane closures in that area this month through the end of October.

All work is dependent upon weather conditions.
