NCAA Game Summary - Tennessee At Louisville

Francisco Garcia scored a game-high 20 points with nine rebounds, leading No. 14 Louisville to an 85-62 victory over Tennessee at Freedom Hall.

Larry O'Bannon added 15 points for the Cardinals (16-3), who have won 10 of their last 11 games. Ellis Myles and Juan Palacio contributed 12 points apiece in the win.

Chris Lofton scored 15 points to lead the Volunteers (10-8). C.J. Watson added 14 points in defeat and Major Wingate had 13 with eight rebounds.

Louisville took control of the game with a 15-0 run in the second half, turning a 59-55 lead into a 74-55 cushion. Otis George scored six straight points during the burst on a dunk and two layups, and Myles finished it off with a jumper just inside the 5:00 mark.

"They took some quick shots and we just ran out of gas," said Tennessee head coach Buzz Peterson.

The Cardinals led by as many as 27 points late when two free throws from George made it 85-58 with 1:23 remaining.

"They are better basketball team than they showed today," said Louisville head coach Rick Pitino of the Volunteers.

Louisville shot a scorching 69 percent (20-of-29) in the second half and 57 percent (33-of-58) for the game. Tennessee shot just 33 percent (10-of-30) after the break and 40 percent (21-of-52) overall.

The Cardinals led by as many as seven points twice in the first half, the last time coming when Lorrenzo Wade's jumper gave them a 38-31 advantage with 1:19 remaining.

Tennessee scored six straight to end the half, however, and pulled within 38-37 heading into the locker room.

Game Notes:

George finished with 10 points in 16 minutes off the bench...Taquan Dean scored five points and had a game-high five assists for Louisville...Pitino is 8-2 against SEC teams since taking over at Louisville in 2001.
